Naik Dango Traditional Ceremony

Naik Dango traditional ceremony is an event to express gratitude to Nek Jubata. This event held by Dayak Kanayatn that live in Landak Regency, Pontianak Regency and also Sanggau Regency. The event held regularry every year.
Before the day of implementation they pray to God, its purpose is to bless on Jubata. On the day of implementation carried out 3 times Nyangahatn, there are : First Sami, the aims to call the soul or the spirit of rice that has come to the custom house. Second Baluh/Langko, the aims to gather the spirit of rice in place of granary. Third Pandarengan, the aims to bless the rice for not run out quickly.
Naik Dango traditioanl ceremony has 4 events, Batutuk or pound the rice in a mortan for the preparation of ritual meals. Matik or prayer to Nek Jubata. The traditional culture and the traditional games.
Naik Dango traditional ceremony has main event called Nyangahatn. During the event, they usually visit each ceremony participants home. Nyangahatn has purpose to pray to the Nek Jubata and to give thanks to God.
The history of Naik Dango began from myth the origins of rice among Dayak of West Kalimantan. Naik Dango ceremony is a further development Dayak art performance. The purpose of Naik Dango traditional ceremony is give thanks for Nek Jubata to give human rice as food, as a sign of the closing years of farming and then to strengthen ties of brotherhood or solidarity.
